PennyStocksUS Index (Short Positions)

Welcome to our (SHORT) stock pick section!

In this section we provide you with our stock picks of nontraditional stocks to be short in a security. Using our picks you will be able to open short positions and short the market. Going short a security is the less conventional practice of investing but could be very profitable. These tickers are intended only for short trading and nothing else! Before you decide to open a short position (short sale) Please read the detailed information on this method of trading stocks in our "trader’s basics" section! Unlike our (LONG) Stock Pick section there is no fixed date of the week when we place them here. Short stock picks are irregular and could be placed as many as 3-5 of them at once on one day or just once in a week or even two. Ticker symbols are placed in the index chart  as soon as they're found, researched and released by our team at noon 12PM (Eastern Standard Time) in 2 and a half hours after the New York Stock Exchange is open. The US stock market opens at 9:30 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time).  We highly recommend you to check this section regularly at 12 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time)!

Our Valuable Information section!

Here we will discuss our views on best US online brokers, what technical market indicators to use and where to find them, also we will share with you our winning short selling technique.

Best US online brokers to trade with.

After careful analysis on dozens available online brokers we found three best choices for you!

I. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/ From our point of view this is the best and only one choice for shorting stocks. Let’s discuss this option. The minimum deposit is $ 10,000. Fixed trade rate of $ 0.005 per share. Minimum per order $ 1.00. Maximum per order 0.5% of trade value. Unfortunately this online broker does not have a fixed flat rate (flat fee per-trade). As an advantage this broker has a multilingual customer service with a toll free number and a multi-language customer support. In order to open their account you’ll need to have a bank account in your name. Fill out an online application, fill out the form w-8 ben form (for foreign traders), provide a copy of an official document with a photo (photo ID), passport (for foreign traders), as well as copies of utility bills (for foreign traders). After the submission of all the documents and activation of your account you can transfer money to your Interactivebrokers account. Your money can be withdrawn from your account at any time to any bank account in your name anywhere in the world without any restrictions. This online broker happens to be the best in the United States in our view and we widely use it for most of our short trades. They have THE BEST online trading platform with the best TWS software, instant and accurate execution of orders. Most of the time they have a surprisingly big number of shortable (hard to find) stocks available. Interactivebrokers is a major broker which uses National Financial Services, LLC as a major clearing house. Most importantly, Interactivebrokers is also a self clearing firm! It means that IB does not borrow from other brokers and always has shortable (hard to find stocks) available for opening short positions. It is quite rare for online brokers but you will have to pay more comparing to other brokers. After all you get what you pay for!

II. https://www.fidelity.com/ This is the best choice for long trading. Let’s discuss this option. The minimum deposit is $ 2,500. Fixed trade rate of $ 7.95 flat fee per-trade. No annual account fees. No transaction fees. In order to open their account you’ll need to have a bank account in your name. Fill out an online application, fill out the form w-8 ben form (for foreign traders), provide a copy of an official document with a photo (photo ID), passport (for foreign traders), as well as copies of utility bills (for foreign traders). After the submission of all the documents and activation of your account you can transfer money to your Fidelity account. Your money can be withdrawn from your account at any time to any bank account in your name anywhere in the world without any restrictions. This online broker happens to be one of the best in the United States in our view and we widely use it for most of our trades. They have a very good online platform trader Pro, instant and accurate execution of orders. They have a poor number of shortable (hard to find) stocks available. Once in a while you can short with them but mainly it's a broker for long trading.

III. https://www.optionshouse.com/ Here is our second choice for long trading. There is no minimum deposit. Fixed trade rate of $ 4.95 flat fee per-trade. No annual account fees. No transaction fees. 500 free trades for 2 years. Trade free for 60 days. In order to open their account you’ll need to have a bank account in your name. Fill out an online application, fill out the form w-8 ben form (for foreign traders), provide a copy of an official document with a photo (photo ID), passport (for foreign traders), as well as copies of utility bills (for foreign traders). After the submission of all the documents and activation of your account you can transfer money to your OptionsHouse account. Your money can be withdrawn from your account at any time to any bank account in your name anywhere in the world without any restrictions. in our view this online broker happens to be one of the best in the United States. We widely use it for lots of our trades. They have a very useful and convenient online trading platform, instant and accurate execution of orders. OptionsHouse gives you exceptional value in Platform Technology, Service, and Pricing.

Technical market indicators, how to use them and where to find!

Every trader chooses the right technical market indicators for himself to improve his trading. We will share our thoughts on this matter but you decide for yourself what suits you best. Having our extended operational experience in this field we have seen people who have installed five, six monitors and tried to use a dozen different technical indicators to trade successfully. As a result these "miracle traders" often stayed flat on their investments and sometimes went into a negative zone. Also we know very successful traders who have used not more than two monitors and three or four technical indicators. On the web you will find a sufficient number of paid ads for those technical indicators. They take the monthly payment by promising to provide a valuable information on top of those indicators. Do not get fooled by it. It's just a trick to suck money out of you. It is more than enough to use a free service provided to you here http://www.freestockcharts.com/

Here is our pick of four technical indicators for you!

  1. 1. MACD Histogram 12 26 9
  2. 2. Stochastics 12 %K 3 > %D 5
  3. 3. Volume > Moving Average 50
  4. 4. Plot style > Heiken-Ashi

From our point of view this is quite sufficient for having a successful trading, though the choice is yours.

Our short selling technique.

Opening short positions and short trading requires an impeccable discipline for any trader. First of all this kind of trading happens to be a short-term trading. It runs from a day trading, intraday (short-term trading) that is opening and covering a short position during the same day, to a mid-term trading (medium-term trading) that is opening and covering a short position from one day to at most a week. It is very important to open a short position on the same day when it was placed by us in our index chart ONLY if the price did not jump up on that day. If you see that the price goes up watch this stock for not more than 3-5 days and then open a short position at the maximum peak within this time frame of 3-5 days! Never open a short position at the profile price. Try using a 1-minute chart and technical indicators described above to enter a short position at the peak or close to the intraday peak. In our index chart it is the upper price range. Keep in mind that the best loss is the one you did not make. If you are not sure of the entry point or the price of the stock ran up greatly on that day do not open a short position and watch it until the next day. You can always come back to it the next day or within 3-5 days and open a short position at a higher price. After opening the short position immediately place a limit order to buy to cover it at a price of 10% below the price it was shorted at. The vast majority of our short picks could give you gains of 20% -30% or even 50% but the more you try to make the more risk you take. Our technique includes a maximum risk minimization as much as possible. Therefore we strongly recommend you to limit a profit to 10% and cover your short position. When you short penny stocks it is very difficult to use stop-loss orders since the volatility of these shares is very high on the intraday. Each trader should set his own loss limit to protect the investment!

Good luck and have a nice, prosperous trading!
